The cut

Four details doing all the work.

The ivory Palazzo trouser worn high at the natural waist with a navy knit polo tucked in.
01

It sits high.

At the navel, where trousers sat before fashion lowered them. Your legs get longer. Your shirt stays tucked. Makes your legs look like they went to a better school.

02

No belt.

Belts are for men who don't trust their tailor. Two buckles at each hip take the waist in, and an extended tab closes the front with one button.

03

Pleat, then crease.

Forward pleats give you room at the hip, then fall into a single pressed crease. The leg tapers from there without clinging to anything.

04

A proper turn-up.

It weights the hem so the crease hangs straight. The detail nobody can name and everybody notices.

Questions

Asked and answered.

What are Palazzo trousers?

The Palazzo is our high-waisted, pleated men's trouser. It fastens with two side buckles at each hip instead of a belt, has an extended waistband tab, a pressed crease and a turn-up, and comes in Ivory, Navy Blue, Light Grey and White.

Do they need a belt?

No. There are no belt loops. Two buckled adjusters at each hip take the waist in, so nothing interrupts the line between shirt and trouser.

Are these the same as Gurkha trousers?

Close cousins. Gurkha trousers also sit high and skip the belt, usually with a wrap-over waistband and a single buckle. The Palazzo uses two side buckles at each hip and an extended front tab. More in the case against the belt.
